How it all began …
The Redland City Choir has its origins in humble beginnings. In 2013, a small article appeared in the
local community newspaper, asking for volunteers to form a choir to perform at the Redlands Easter
Family Festival. Led by singer/songwriter Anita Taylor, it would be a one-off performance. We would
practise, perform and part company afterwards.
Little did we know …
The choir wanted to keep singing. When we were invited to perform at the Redland Museum Open
Day, we jumped at the chance. From there, invitations to more events kept us practising and honing
our skills, and we were joined by new members. As praise poured in from an appreciative public,
Anita began to dream of what our choir could do for the community. In 2014, we held the first
Redlands White Christmas, an event that has continued every year, except for 2020. During this time,
over $40,000 from our concerts has been donated to The Redland Foundation to support victims of
domestic violence.
The Redland City Choir was borne out of a desire to serve the community and, more than a decade
later, this dedication remains at the heart of its values.
